Whats happening March 20? Econ booked out

  • Hey guys,

    One of those idle curiosity threads really - just booking some flights last night and no economy being sold on NZ6 AKL-LAX or on NZ2 LAX-LHR. Also, NZ2 AKL-LAX isn't popping up as an option... Prem. Econ and Business though look fine.

    Does anyone know what big event is happening? I've scoured my diary and brain to no avail.


  • Indeed, the seat maps for those flights show plenty of space in Y.


  • Can you remind me how / where you can see a flight's booked seat-map?

    Expertflyer, KVS for starters.


  • Hahaa.. perhaps -- although they'd be three weeks late for the Oscars if that were the case.

    The world seems to have righted itself 18 hours on -- availabilty looks completely as normal for that day now, if I hadn't posted a thread it may just have been my imagination.

    Perhaps some rogue travel agent booked 180 seats mistakenly and it took a while for the system to churn it through? Strange.


  • Perhaps they were looking at equipment swaps/cancelling a flight/etc and wanted to halt bookings in the interim?
