Who should I contact about great experiences?

January 5th, 2009
  • I recently had an excellenct experience on AA while flying from SJU to DCA via JFK. Who would I send a note to, the operations manager at JFK or to corporate?

  • Just spoke with a gentleman at AA's Executive Offices to relay my praise for outstanding service given by two flight attendants on AA42/22FEB ORDCDG. He said he would be happy to take the comments over the phone and pass them along but it often adds more weight if a customer writes a letter of commendation. Here is the address he gave me:

    Annette Dickerson
    American Airlines Customer Relations
    PO Box 619612 MD 2400
    DFW Airport TX 75261-9612

He explained that Customer Relations will forward the comments to the appropriate department(s) and will place a copy of the letter in the employee's file.

My letter will be in the mail today.

  • Hi Foley!

In the light of the presence of another thread whose subject is completely opposite from yours, I am so glad to hear of your positive experience with American Airlines.

You could get onto AA.com then follow the links in there. There's a link which allows you to send comments about your trip. It goes to Customer Service, and you could include the names of the AAngels who made your trip heavenly. That will usually ensure that they are forwarded a copy of your compliments.

And, thanks for being nice. I am a firm believer of crediting good service when it's due. It's daunting that far too many people trigger the gun when things go bad, and ignore the bouquets when they are due. Sigh.

Be happy, and smile really widely, for you're going to spread some joy this day! What else could be more richly satisfying? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

    Cheers and God bless,
    Maple

  • I wrote in a letter of recommendation about a CTO employee about 5 weeks ago, right before I left for Asia. Got home yesterday, and had a response, thanking me for "taking the time to convey my thoughts".

The letter was short, but nice -- and signed by someone in the Executive Office.

Now, if only AA could reply to complaints this fast...

  • I once wrote to Don Carty about a particularly good gate agent and received a very nice letter signed by him (didn't even look like a form letter although it probably was). The next time I saw the agent, he was very appreciative.
